Mary Steele Thompson is the Theological Librarian at the John R. Dover Memorial Library of Gardner-Webb University, Boiling Springs, NC, where she began working in 1998 as Public Services Librarian. Previously, Mary worked 13 years as Librarian and Chief GED Examiner at Anson Community College, Polkton, NC, and as the Director of Christian Education in United Methodist churches in Wellington, KS, Mooresville, NC, and Wadesboro, NC.  Mary received her M.L.S. in 1996 from the School of Library & Information Science at North Carolina Central University, Durham, NC, her M.A. in Church and Community from Scarritt College, Nashville, TN in 1979, her A.B. in Christian Education from Pfeiffer College, Misenheimer, NC in 1976, and an A.A. from Brevard College, Brevard, NC, in 1974.  Mary is pianist for 2 churches on Sunday mornings, one with a 9:45 a.m. service and the other with an 11:00 a.m. service. She also enjoys singing, reading a good mystery, writing poetry, and family time at the beach.
